Meanwhile, Lion Air, who recently made the biggest ever order for planes from Airbus, has seen its plans to set up a domestic Aussie airline suffer a setback. That setback came in the form of a 100-foot overshoot on a Bali runway late last month. Fortunately there were no fatalities as the Indonesian jet settled in the shallow waters of the bay at the end of the runway. However, the airline’s appalling safety record lands it in deeper water with airline regulators with their ban on flying to Europe still enforced.
