Ground Cover
The police force with the largest geographical jurisdiction in the world, the hardworking West Australian police Air Wing, has just taken delivery of a Eurocopter Dauphin to help them cover more ground. CASA has completed the ground and air testing of the $20 million state of the art helo with deployment occurring any day now. Police Minister Rob Johnson said the second helicopter would mean police could deliver a superior level of service to both metropolitan and regional areas. “More than 3500 hours were spent on designing and integrating a range of electronic and electrical systems. They included sophisticated sensor equipment, an infra-red camera, a multi-agency communication suite, a rescue winch and other critical equipment.”
