This is something unique that we have never seen offered anywhere else in Australia for the public. On 21,22 March Aeropower Flight School is holding a two day Huey Ground School course at their Redcliffe hangar. The course will include classroom study and most importantly the chance to crawl all over a Vietnam War warbird Huey that has been restored to flying condition.
There are a maximum of eight places available on the course with no prerequisites. The training will cover the ground component of a Flight Review / Endorsement for anyone wanting to complete that as a follow on activity for the flying component.
On Sat 23 March the opportunity is there to purchase a 30 minute front seat ride with an instructor and to get some hands on time flying this iconic aircraft.
The ground course will cost $599+GST once tickets become available on Monday 24th February. To go on the waiting list and get first notice of ticket sales opening up please RSVP to the Facebook event post.
The most famous Huey helicopter book by far is “Chicken Hawk”. Required reading for aspiring helicopter pilots. Once you have RSVP’d on Facebook have a listen to this interview with the book’s Author.
New Cabri G2 Trainer Website
The brand new Cabri G2 manufacturer website has also just gone live this week. It has some stunning photos of the G2 in action around the world. It highlights many of the features that make this the premier two-seat training helicopter in the world. If you haven’t flown it yet, Aeropower would love to show you around a pre-flight and to help you get some air time in it. To get just a taste of the jump up in design technology and build quality that you can expect from the Cabri there is an excellent video showing how they are built from the ground up on YouTube.

Finally, there is one position left at the school on the March VET Student Loan eligible CPL(H) course – Aeropower is almost fully subscribed for their first VET eligible full time course starting 11 March. There is just enough time to complete your enrollment application process if you still want to be considered – but only just. They need to be talking with you early next week if you are serious but haven’t already let them know. Applications are also now being taken for the June/July course.
