To misquote a witty modern commentator, “Aviation resemblesĀ Old Testament gods: lots of rules and no mercy.’ Of course, the continuously updated barrage of rules and regulations are solely in place specifically because a serious airborne error can have fatally unmerciful consequences. No one immersed in the world of aviation is oblivious to the stream of acronyms, airworthiness directives and legal compliance that apply as soon as you climb into a cockpit; all of which are designed and formulated to keep us and our passengers reassured, insured and, ultimately, safe.
