As Easy as CTC
Europe’s leading low-cost airline, easyJet, has again teamed up with world leading airline pilot training company, CTC, bringing more trainee pilots to New Zealand to complete part of the ‘easyJet MPL cadet programme’. This exciting new programme will provide an opportunity for an initial intake of 36 aspiring easyJet pilots to start training with CTC this year and be qualified for line operations with the airline by late 2014/early 2015.
easyJet and CTC have worked closely together since the very first easyJet flight took off in 1995 with CTC-trained pilots at the controls. Since then more than 1,500 graduates of CTC’s world-renowned ‘CTC Wings’ programme – a career development programme for aspiring airline pilots – have had a flying start as easyJet First Officers. Today a significant proportion of those pilots now hold captain and senior management positions for easyJet.
The Multi-crew Pilot’s Licence (MPL) syllabus focuses on multi-crew operations and very quickly moves the pilot from “core”, light aircraft, foundation flying skills on to the Airbus A320 flight simulators using the airline’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
